Delicious high-carb yogurt bread :)

If you are a runner who runs at medium to high intensity you know that carbohydrates are your best friend. For those who run ultra marathons at lower intensity a diet with more mixed source of energy, from carbohydrates, fat and proteins can be beneficial too.

But if you run marathons and shorter distances at a medium to high intensity carbohydrates are your primary source of fuel.

Here is a great Greek yogurt bread that you will certainly like and it will fuel your body for those extra long workouts. Give it a try! :)

  • 3 dl. Greek yogurt or other plain yogurt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 1 tsb. agave syrup
  • 1 tsb. salt
  • 2 tsb. baking powder
  • 100 gr. oats
  • 200 gr. whole wheat
  • Add sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and linseed as wanted. It is also good to add coconut flour or coconut flakes and dried fruits like raisins, dates or apricots as wanted.

Method
Whip lightly together Greek yogurt and eggs. Add oil, agave syrup and salt. Then add baking powder, oats and whole wheat. Mix everything together. Put last the seeds and dried fruits as wanted. Put in a buttered bread pan and bake for about 40 minutes at 180°C.
